AI Messaging overview
How the AI agent and automated replies work.
AI Messaging is the core of PingTeo: an AI agent per property that reads guest messages and generates replies using your rules, FAQ, and conversation context.
What the AI uses
- Agent config — Name, tone, check-in/check-out rules, FAQ, local attractions (see Configure your AI agent).
- Reservation — Guest name, dates, number of guests, property name.
- Conversation history — Recent messages in the thread so replies are coherent.
- Documents (optional) — Uploaded PDFs or text that the AI can search (RAG) for extra detail. See Documents (RAG).
Reply flow
- A guest message arrives (via webhook or sync).
- PingTeo checks that the agent is on for that property and the last message is from the guest.
- The AI generates a reply and may mark it for review (low confidence or “review before send”) or escalation (sensitive intent).
- Depending on settings: the reply is sent automatically, held for your approval, or not sent (escalation). You see everything in Messages.
Enable or disable
In Properties → select property → AI Config, use the toggle to turn the agent on or off. When off, no AI replies are generated for that property.
Test without a guest
You can try the AI with a sample message in AI Config → Test AI response. Type a question and see the generated reply and confidence.
