Messages not syncing
Checklist when guest messages don't appear in PingTeo.
If guest messages from Beds24 aren’t showing up in PingTeo, work through this checklist.
1. Beds24 connected
In Settings → Beds24, confirm the account shows as Connected. If not, reconnect with a valid invite code from Beds24.
2. Property selected
Only properties you’ve added in PingTeo receive messages. In Properties, confirm the listing where the guest is messaging is present and active. Add it from Beds24 if it’s missing.
3. Webhook URL and secret
- In Beds24, the webhook for PingTeo must be set to the exact URL PingTeo gives you (e.g.
https://beta.pingteo.com/api/beds24/webhook/YOUR_USER_ID). Get the URL from Settings → Beds24 or the guided setup. - If PingTeo requires a secret (e.g.
X-PingTeo-Auth), the same value must be set in Beds24 so requests are accepted. Wrong or missing secret → 401 and messages won’t be received. - Test with Beds24’s “ping” or “test” if available; PingTeo should respond with success.
4. Webhook for messages
Ensure the webhook in Beds24 is configured for message events (new guest/host messages). If it’s only for bookings, new messages won’t be pushed.
5. Scheduled sync (backup)
If the webhook isn’t working, PingTeo may still get messages on the next scheduled sync (e.g. every few hours). So messages can appear with a delay. Fixing the webhook is still recommended for real-time replies.
6. Reservation exists
Messages are tied to a reservation (booking). If the booking isn’t synced yet (e.g. very new), the message might not show until the reservation is created. Trigger a manual sync or wait for the next sync and check again.
If everything above is correct and messages still don’t appear, note the property, guest, and approximate time and contact support with those details.
